SELA – Community Service Exchange Platform

SELA is a community-driven service exchange platform designed to connect individuals and organizations through a centralized digital ecosystem. Users can publish services, browse community offerings, submit reviews, communicate with providers, and manage their own service listings.

The project was designed following Software Engineering best practices, starting from requirements analysis and UML modeling to implementation, testing, and deployment. The architecture focuses on scalability, maintainability, and user experience while supporting future expansion.

Problem

Many communities struggle to connect service providers with people who need those services. Existing platforms often focus on commercial transactions instead of community collaboration.

Solution

SELA introduces a unified platform where both individuals and organizations can publish community services, receive reviews, and manage their offerings through an intuitive mobile application.

Architecture

The backend was developed using ASP.NET Core following a layered architecture.

The mobile application was built with Flutter.

Azure was used for deployment.

RabbitMQ handled asynchronous messaging.

Redis improved performance through caching.

Supabase supported selected cloud services.

GitHub managed version control and collaboration.

Testing

Comprehensive test cases were created covering:

• Authentication
• Publishing services
• Editing posts
• Deleting posts
• Reviews
• User interactions

The final system successfully passed functional testing across the implemented modules.
